What happened at Eden T.C. Kroonstad

This is our family. We have three children that is still going to school and a daughter that is living in Mozambique 

Eden Kroonstad is the third center who was started by Pastor Herman in 1994.

The purpose of the center is to serve the community and to help those who are in need and battle with life controlling problems, like alcohol and drugs. We are also looking after abandoned kids, ex prisoners and women who are abused. Myself and my wife Carol are running the center for the last 8 years and have seven training staff members and one secretary, that help us with the daily duties. We have three trustee members from the community to help and assist us with some matters and problems.

We are a faith-based ministry who totally rely on the Lord for providing our needs. All our funding is through donations of the community.  At the center we provide accommodation, food, clothes, counselling and also daily programs to help them better their lives. Our aim is that when they have finished the program that they can go back in to the community to serve the community. They also can stay on in the ministry if they are led by the Holy Spirit to serve full-time in the ministry. There are also a two-year Bible school where they can prepare themselves for the ministry that lies ahead.

Because of though times many people lose their jobs and cannot provide for their families any more, those are some of the people who come to the ministry for help. We work closely with some of the churches in Kroonstad who are involved in helping us by donating food, clothes and other necessities. Some of the churches also bring people to us that are in need so that we can help them by the grace of God.

Our rules are very strict and when people come to book in we expect them to abide by the rules. They must be willing to stay for at least one year to finish the programs. No life controlling substances are allowed on the premises like alcohol, cigarettes, drugs ect.  The center is also equiped with a clinic, where all medication are kept safe, and are handed out on time to the patients. 

Many of the people who come to the center for help are separated from their families, because of their addictions. It is also our aim to reunite them with their love ones, so that the family can become part of their way to recovery. During their stay in the ministry everyone helps with daily tasks and work that need to be done. The local schools help us with the education of the children that stay in the ministry. There is also a crèche on the premisses to keep the little ones busy while their [parents do their task in the ministry. We start every morning with devotions and at evenings we have praise and worship and prayer meetings. We have our own Sunday services where we focus on teaching them Bible principles that they can apply to their own lives.
